From the SF-Marin Food Bank San Francisco Residents 415-549-7021 Find An Appointment Marin Residents 415-767-5220 Where To Find Help CalFresh (formerly known as the food stamp program) is a federal nutrition benefit that provides program participants with a means to purchase food. Benefits can be used at grocery stores, farmers’ markets , and for some, benefits may even be used at restaurants and community meal programs, and now online for grocery delivery with Walmart and Amazon. The SF-Marin Food Bank helps hundreds of people stretch their food budgets and drives over a million dollars of federal funding into California’s economy each year through our CalFresh Outreach program. Find out if you might qualify for CalFresh with the food bank’s help! All application assistance will be provided OVER THE PHONE due to COVID-19 /shelter in place rules in San Francisco and Marin counties. All available appointments at partner locations are for phone based assistance. What we do for Participants: Screening for likely eligibility Assistance in filling out and sending your application and required documents Help with semi-annual and yearly recertification reports Help with troubleshooting CalFresh-related issues Provide referrals for other free food programs Connect you to agencies that can provide other resources What we do for Agencies: Provide educational and outreach materials about CalFresh Community presentations Event outreach Free application assistance trainings On-site application assistance for agency clients Who is eligible? U.S. Citizens Permanent Residents (green card), U or T visa holders, Refugees, and Asylees All U.S. born children, no matter where their parents were born SSI recipients are eligible to apply for CalFresh as of June 1st, 2019!!! Important Documents Any valid form of I.D.
